After you purchase your new stove, your first order of business should be to read the entire owner’s manual cover to cover. Once you’ve done this, you can then light your stove and get used to the controls. This process of getting familiar is important regardless of the type of stove you own – be it wood, gas or especially pellet, it’s best to be prepared!
While reading the manual, get a highlighter pen and mark the area for periodic maintenance. This will make for quick reference later. An example of periodic maintenance may be when to scrape your burn pot on a pellet stove or when and how to clean your glass on a gas stove.
